40. Mr. Parker

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what are the current mill prices per tonne for fibre board and clean baled newspaper; what premium is now being paid by the GLC to London boroughs and by Thames Board Mills; and what are the tonnage and average per tonne, total values respectively, of imported wood pulp, and waste paper and board, including scrap paper and board products for use in paper and board making, for 1973 and to the latest available date in 1974.

I understand that prices of board waste are between £35 and £45 per tonne whilst baled newspaper varies from £25 and £50. The supplement paid by the GLC varies with circumstances but the minimum rate is £1.25 per tonne. I cannot give details of commercial
