§ Mr. Gordon Wilsonasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will publish a table showing the top 20 countries in order of income per head of population in 1950, 1955, 1960, 1965, 1970, 1971, 1972, and 1973.
§ Mr. BoothThe table below lists 16 countries in order of their income per head for a limited number of years. The income has been calculated in pounds sterling at exchange rates prevailing in the given years. The selection of countries was determined by the availability of information, and hence it does not necessarily comprise the top countries of the world.
A separate issue involving electricians has been the subject of discussions between HMSO and the EETPU under an independent chairman appointed by my Department and a possible solution is now under consideration by both sides.
