HC Deb 18 July 1974 vol 877 c228W
Mr. Ovenden

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how much expenditure has been approved under the terms of DHSS circular 21/73 to provide facilities for the treatment and help of homeless alcoholics; and what projects have been approved.

Dr. Owen

Under the terms of Circular 21/73 capital expenditure of £180,000 has been approved in principle together with revenue expenditure of £62,700 in 1973–74 and approximately £90,000 in 1974–75. In addition to the 20 existing projects taken over from the Home Office for revenue funding in April 1973, the following new projects have been approved:

that the scheme is not advanced sufficiently to achieve a start in that year.

The centre will now fall to be considered for 1975–76 and I regret that at this stage I cannot give any estimate of the starting date.
