§ 25. Mr. Martenasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many European Economic Community nationals have been given permits to reside or settle on removal of conditions in the United Kingdom since 1st January 1973 to the latest date.
§ Mr. Roy JenkinsBetween 1st January 1973 and 31st May 1974, 16,007 EEC nationals were issued with residence permits and 3,764 were accepted for settlement on the removal of conditions. Figures relating to individual countries other than the Irish Republic are as folows:
