HC Deb 17 July 1974 vol 877 cc202-3W
Mr. Robert Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what changes of policy occurred in his Department between 22nd May 1974 and 14th June 1974 in order to render obsolete his reply to the hon. Member for Croydon, North-West in col. 170 of the OFFICIAL REPORT on the former date, as shown by his reply in col. 685 on the latter date.

Mr. Freeson

There has been no change in policy, and there is no inconsistency between the two earlier replies. The premises at Princes House must be vacated in the near future to allow the lessors to carry out modernisation. The Property Services Agency is continually seeking suitable accommodation to meet the changing requirements of the Civil Service, and if negotiations with the lessors for a new lease of Princes House are successful, the premises will assist it to rationalise the pattern of holdings once modernisation is complete.
