Mr. Peter Walker

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects to publish the reports of the Inner City Study groups.

Mr. Charles Morris

The consultants engaged on the Inner Area Studies are reporting by stages as the Studies progress. Five reports have been published by my Department; another seven are now being prepared for publication; and at least six more are likely to be published before April 1975.

Details of the reports published so far are as follows:

  • IAS/B/1: Birmingham Inner Area Study—Project Report (80p).
  • IAS/B/2: Birmingham Inner Area Study—Progress Report (55p). (Consultants: Llewelyn-Davies, Weeks, Forestier-Walker & Bor).
  • IAS/LA/1: Lambeth Inner Area Study—Project Report (30p). (Consultants: Shankland/Cox Partnership in association with the Institute of Community Studies).
  • IAS/LI/1: Liverpool Inner Area Study—Project Report (50p). (Consultants: Hugh Wilson & Lewis Womersley in association with Drivers Jonas, Surveyors and Land Economists, and Jamieson & Mackay, Consulting Engineers).
  • IAS/LI/2: Liverpool Inner Area Study—Study Review/Proposals for Action and Research (£1.00). (Consultants: Hugh Wilson and Lewis Womersley (in association with Roger Tym and Associates, Urban and Land Economists, and Jamieson and Mackay, Consulting Engineers).

I am arranging for copies of these and of subsequent publications to be placed in the Library.
