asked the Secretary of State for Industry how many development certificates were granted in 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972 and 1973 and the latest date for which figures are available to firms moving into Scotland from (1) elsewhere in the United Kingdom, (2) the EEC, (3) North America, and (4) the rest of the world.

I regret this information is not available. The following table gives the number of industrial development certificates issued for Scotland:

January-June 1974 2

The figures relate to schemes of 15,000 sq. ft. and over. IDCs were not required in the development areas from July 1972.
