asked the Secretary of State for Trade what is the present level of use of Stansted Airport, Essex.

Mr. Clinton Davis

In the 12 months ended 31st May 1974 Stansted Airport handled 31,553 aircraft movements including 3,259 air transport movements, 205,994 passengers and 17,479 tons of cargo and mail.

47. Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what are his plans for the expansion and general future of Stansted Airport.

The future of the airport could be affected by the reappraisal of the Maplin airport project on which I expect to make a statement shortly.
