asked Her Majesty's Government:

  1. (i) How many minor public transport aircraft operators (i.e. operators of aircraft below 2,300 kg. M.A.U.W. who do not hold Air Operators Certificates) are known to each of the Civil Aviation Authority's T Divisional Offices at this time;
  2. (ii) What has been the percentage increase in these numbers in each of the areas in each of the lasv three years and so far this year;
  3. (iii) How many notifiable accidents have occurred to these operators in each of these areas in each of the last three years and so far this year.

My Lords, I find these are complex matters, which it would be difficult to deal with adequately in a form suitable for publication in the Official Report. I suggest, therefore, that the noble Lord gets in touch with the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority who, I understand, will be pleased to help him.
