HC Deb 11 July 1974 vol 876 c567W
Mrs. Winifred Ewing

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list the Government offices which have been transferred from England to Scotland in the last two years; and how many staff have been involved in each transfer.

Mr. William Ross

The Government announced in April the transfer to Glasgow of the headquarters of the Offshore Supplies Office of the Department of Energy. 640 posts in the Department of National Savings have been transferred to Cowglen, Glasgow in the period since April 1972 and a further 2,050 posts in that Department are planned for transfer by December 1976.

In addition, in the period since April 1972 the office of the London Provincial District No. 25 of the Department of Inland Revenue has been transferred to Edinburgh. 180 posts have been involved. These figures do not anticipate the outcome of the Government's consideration of the Hardman Report.
