HC Deb 11 July 1974 vol 876 c573W
Mr. Campbell

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what is the number of bottles which have required to be imported in the last accountable period because of the manufacturing shortage in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Deakins

It is not possible to distinguish which imports arise from shortages. From January to May 1974, 437 million glass bottles and other containers and 2,230 tonnes of plastic bottles and containers were imported.
