§ Mr. Milneasked the Minister of Overseas Development if she will outline the procedure followed by Her Majesty's Government in the granting and payments of aid to overseas countries and the follow-up procedure in regard to an examination of the projects for which aid is given.
§ Mrs. HartThe procedures depend on the type of aid being given. Where individual projects are concerned the proposals are examined to see that full value in terms of development is likely to be achieved. Where possible, arrangements are made to evaluate the results after the project is completed. The procedures are set out in more detail on page 7 of the report from the Select Committee on Overseas Development, Session 1972–73 (HC 294-II), Volume II.
