HC Deb 10 July 1974 vol 876 cc497-8W
Mr, Wm. Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Defence whether members of the UDR will receive the special payment of 50p per day if they do their annual training in Northern Ireland; and, if they complete the qualifying period of 14 days, whether this payment will be made for all daily duties carried out for the remainder of that year.

Mr. William Rodgers

As I explained to the hon. Member on 9th June, part-time members of the Ulster Defence Regiment will qualify for the special payment of 50p a day if they are called out for more than 14 days. The payment relates to continuous periods of duty. Periods of training do not qualify for the special payment.
