§ 45. Mr. Frank Allaunasked the Secretary of State for Defence what was the value in pounds sterling, at current prices, of the exports of arms and ammunition from the United Kingdom during the years 1965–1973.
§ Mr. William RodgersNo index is available to enable the values of defence exports to be accurately expressed at constant prices. However, using unit value index numbers for total exports of all manufactured goods it is estimated that exports over the period at current prices have been roughly as follows:
1964–65, £190 million; 1965–66, £200 million; 1966–67, £230 million; 1967–68, £250 million; 1968–69, £280 million; 1969–70, £290 million; 1970–71, £290 million; 1971–72, £290 million; 1972–73, £300 million; 1973–74, £400 million (provisonal).
