38. Mr. Albert Roberts

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what progress is being made in commencing the construction of the roadway from the M62 to A64 bypassing Oulton, Woodlesford and Swillington to link up with the A1.

Responsibility for progress with this scheme will rest with the highway authority, West Yorks Metropolitan County Council, within the framework of its transport policy and programme.
