HC Deb 08 July 1974 vol 876 c396W
Mr. Hall-Davis

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will reverse her instruction that retirement pensioners whose new pension books have not been delivered to them should only receive a payment of one week's pension, when they have been in the habit of collecting monthly and four weeks' pension is due to them.

Mr. O'Malley

As I explained in my reply to the hon. Member for Pembroke (Mr. Edwards) on 3rd July, a pensioner without an order book who raises the question of his entitlement to additional weeks of pension will be advised to apply to the local social security office, which can arrange for the necessary payments to be made by girocheque. If the hon. Member has a particular case of difficulty in mind I shall be glad to look into it.
