§ Mr. Ron Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she is aware that patients from the Carlisle area have to wait in some cases 10 weeks or more before they can see consulting specialists at the Newcastle Royal Victoria Infirmary; and if she will require the authority to expedite this service for the benefit of the Carlisle patients.
§ Dr. OwenI am aware of the delays referred to. Appointments are not determined by the place of residence of patients. Urgent cases are always seen without delay.
