Mr. Knox

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what particular advice has been given to United Kingdom diplomats abroad on respecting the conservation laws in the countries where they are working.

Mr. Hattersley

None. Our diplomats are expected to observe all the appropriate laws in countries where they serve.

Mr. Knox

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what is the number of occasions on which United Kingdom diplomats abroad have claimed diplomatic immunity to avoid charges arising out of breaches of conservation laws in the countries in which they are working.

Mr. Hattersley

I know of no such cases.
