asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is the levy fixed upon cheese imported from outside the Community with fat content between 19 per cent. and 39 per cent.

The import tariff of the European Community does not distinguish cheeses with a fat content between 19 per cent. and 39 per cent. For the purposes of accession compensatory amounts, however, cheeses are classified on this basis under certain tariff sub-headings. The following table shows the net levies chargeable on imports into the United Kingdom from third countries for those cheeses which are defined in this way:
