§ Mr. DeakinsIt is estimated that of the total 1972 world production of minerals—listed as ISIC items 210001 to 290919 inclusive in the Commodities Index to the UN publication Growth of World Industry 1972—approximately 24 per cent. by value, including oil, or 6 per cent. by value, excluding oil, was produced by the countries classified as "developing market economies" in the UN Statistical Year Book for 1972.
