§ Sir D. Dodds-Parkerasked the Secretary of State for Employment how he expects the EEC decisions taken on 10th June on the social action programme to benefit migrant workers in the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. John FraserThe Council of Ministers agreed on 10th June to a scheme under which certain types of expenditure by member States on migrant workers within the Community will be eligible for assistance from the European Social Fund. My right hon. Friend is taking urgent action to ensure that the claims of suitable projects, including those in the community relations field, for this type of assistance are considered, but it is too early to estimate what the benefit to migrant workers in this country might be.
