Mr. Denis Howell

£28.7 million —at November 1973 prices.

Dr. Edmund Marshall

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects to allocate finance to the Yorkshire Water Authority for capital projects to be undertaken in the financial year 1975–76.

Mr. Denis Howell

Pending the completion of a public expenditure survey it is customary to authorise the commitment of only a proportion of the capital investment programme for the next year as forecast in the last preceding White Paper. On this basis the Yorkshire Water Authority has been given a provisional limit on commitments of £28.4 million—at November 1973 prices—for the financial year 1975–76.
