HC Deb 01 July 1974 vol 876 cc19-20W
Mr. Robin F. Cook

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is the mean waiting period for a hearing of an appeal against refusal to extend or vary a permit to stay in Great Britain; and whether he will review the present procedure.

Mr. Alexander W. Lyon

It is normal for several months to elapse before appeals against refusal to extend stay can be heard, and some cases take longer. We are doing what we can to reduce the delay.
