and communication (except railways and sea transport), public administration and certain miscellaneous services.

When comparing these figures with those for other areas it should be borne in mind that the averages can be affected by influences such as variations in the pattern of industry. Comparisons may not therefore give a precise indication of differences in earnings for comparable work.
