HC Deb 31 January 1974 vol 868 cc151-2W
Mr. Faulds

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what progress has been made in the establishment of a British theatre museum in Somerset House.

Mr. Channon

Good progress is being made with the conversion of the accommodation in Somerset House. The first phase of restoration work should be completed by late March to allow a temporary exhibition organised by the Churchill Centenary Trust to take place from May to September; a further phase of restoration will then begin, ending in April 1975. The theatre museum is expected to open in the summer of 1975.
