HC Deb 30 January 1974 vol 868 cc128-9W
Mr. Wellbeloved

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland why the central office of the Northern Ireland Civil Rights Association situated in Marquis Street, Belfast, was subjected to a military search; what charges have been laid against the officers or members of the association; and if he will make a statement

Mr. Peter Mills

The reply given by my hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State for Defence for the Army on 25th January to a Question from the hon. Member for Sutton and Cheam (Mr. Tope) gave the reasons for the search of the NICRA offices.—[Vol 867, c.363.]

No charges have been laid against an officer of the association, but one person was arrested during the incident.
