Cyprus sherry imports into the United Kingdom between 1st February and 31st December 1973 were as follows:

United Kingdom's estimated contribution to the subsidy.

Mrs. Fenner

Regulation (EEC) No. 3534/73 of the Commission identifies Community wines similar to Cyprus sherry as liqueur wines produced in the Community as originally constituted, other than quality wines produced in specific regions. Traders who made shipments of such wine to the United Kingdom during the period 1st February to 31st December 1973 inclusive are entitled to payment of a subsidy equivalent to 24 units of account per hectolitre, but no claims have yet been received.

Regulation (EEC) No. 3576/73 of the Council provides for a similar arrangement on such wine shipped from 1st January to 31st December 1974 inclusive, but the rate of subsidy for this period has yet to be determined.

The cost of any subsidy payments will be met from the Community budget, to which the United Kingdom contribution is at a level representing 8.78 per cent. for the 1973 budget and 11.04 per cent. for 1974.
