§ Mr. Hall-Davisasked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will list the powers he has to give financial help to tourism and the tourist industry, the hotel and catering industry, and organisations providing or supporting outdoor and indoor recreation, listing the relevant Acts; and what bodies are in receipt of grant from his Department which are empowered by their articles or terms of reference to give financial help for these activities.
§ Mr. ShoreI have power to give grants-in-aid to the British Tourist Authority and the English Tourist Board under Section 20 of the Development of 741W Tourism Act 1969. The English Tourist Board has power to give financial assistance in accordance with Section 4 of the Act. These are the only powers available to me for the purposes mentioned.
