HC Deb 20 December 1974 vol 883 c694W
Mr. Kilroy-Silk

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if any special methods of interrogation have been used in the application of the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act.

Mr. Roy Jenkins

The normal rules on methods of interrogation apply, and I have no reason to suppose that they have been broken.

Mr. Kilroy-Silk

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if deep interrogative methods have been used by police or security forces in England and Wales in the last two years.

Mr. Roy Jenkins

The police are well aware of the methods which may properly be used and they have no authority to exceed them.
