HC Deb 20 December 1974 vol 883 c708W
Mr. Ralph Howell

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will take action to deal with a situation whereby a man can receive more money when unemployed than employed, as in the case of a married man with a wife and two children earning a gross weekly wage of £30 who has £8.84 more spending power when unemployed than when at work.

Mr. Robert Sheldon

I will write to the hon. Member.
