Hotel Accommodation (Registration)

Mr. Anthony Grant

asked the Secretary of State for Trade whether he proposes to introduce compulsory registration of hotel accommodation in England; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Deakins

The English Tourist Board has decided to introduce a voluntary scheme of registration of hotel accommodation. I propose to await experience of this voluntary scheme before deciding whether further action is required.
