This report was prepared by the Joint ARC/MRC Committee on Food and Nutrition Research, set up to advise the Agricultural Research Council and the Medical Research Council on research in the field of food and nutrition and its promotion. It is being published as a report to the two councils, as a basis for discussion both within the councils and in the wider scientific community, preparatory to the consideration of policy.The report was published on 6th December 1974, and it is yet too early for the ARC/MRC to come to any conclusions on its recommendations.
