HC Deb 19 December 1974 vol 883 c551W
Mr. Emery

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the estimated total gross expenditure for 1975–76 for Farringdon House Community Home for Girls; what is that figure as a cost per year for the girls who are placed there in care; and how this compares with average figures for the United Kingdom for girls' community homes and boys' community homes.

Dr. Owen

Information about costs of individual community homes, or about community homes for boys and for girls separately, is not available centrally. It is estimated that the annual cost per child excluding administration costs in residential accommodation for children in care, the greater part of which is in community homes, will be about £2,000 in 1975–76 in England and Wales.
