43. Mr. Hooson

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will take steps to ensure that the Welsh College of Music and Drama, being a national institution in Wales, is not merged into a South Glamorgan Institute of Higher Education under the recommendation of Circular 7/73.

Mr. Prentice

This college is administered by South Glamorgan and I am now awaiting the authority's final proposals for the reorganisation of higher education in its area. Until they have been received and considered I cannot comment on the future of the college.
