HC Deb 17 December 1974 vol 883 cc403-4W
Mr. Beith

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many people have been served with exclusion orders; how many exclusion orders have been signed but not served; and how many people have been excluded since the Northern Ireland (Prevention of Terrorism) Act 1974 came into effect

Mr. Roy Jenkins

Notice of the making of an exclusion order under the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act has been served on five people. Two of these five have been removed and representations made in respect of the other three are under consideration. In addition, I have made five exclusion orders, notice of which has not been served. Three of the persons concerned are understood to be outside the United Kingdom. The other two have now been charged with murder and I have therefore revoked these orders, pending the outcome of the criminal proceedings.
