HC Deb 13 December 1974 vol 883 cc294-5W
Mr. George

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) how many recipients of supplementary benefit whose allowance is restricted by the wage stop are currently receiving a rate rebate; and if this information can be broken down into each of the Department's administrative regions;

(2) how many claimants of supplementary benefit whose allowance is restricted by the wage stop are currently in receipt of a rent rebate or rent allowance; how many of those who are not doing so are currently having to pay rent; and if this information can be broken down into each of the Department's administrative regions.

Mr. Alec Jones

I regret the information is not available. There are fewer than 8,000 claimants whose supplementary allowance is limited by the wage stop provision and they are almost without exception eligible for rate rebate and for rent rebate or allowance.
