§ Mr. Pattieasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will carry out an investigation to establish if there was any connection between the construction of the M3 and the flooding that took place in Chertsey and Addle-stone on 22nd November 1974.
§ Mr. CarmichaelNo. On that day flooding was widespread after abnormally heavy rainfall and there is no reason to attribute the flooding in Chertsey and Addlestone to the construction of the M3.
