HC Deb 10 December 1974 vol 883 c98W
Mr. Churchill

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what role the Simons-town base has played in providing support facilities in connection with the maintenance of sanctions against Rhodesia; and how many visits to the base have been made by Royal Navy vessels and support ships connected with this operation in each of the years since sanctions were imposed.

Mr. Judd

In the past calls at Simons-town have been made for a variety of reasons by ships involved in various tasks. It it not possible to say which visits were specifically connected with the Beira Patrol.
