As my right hon. Friead said in his statement on 3rd December, our decisions will save some £750 million a year by 1983–84. The figures for 1976–7 and subsequent years are provisional pending final decisions on the defence review after consultation with our allies.

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will express the figures of expected savings in defence expenditure included in his statement of 3rd December at constant prices with 1974 as base year.
