§ Mr. Matherasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what steps he is taking to secure the early release of Major Harry Alan Andrews, of Cobham, Surrey, who has been detained without trial in the Sudan for the past 13 months.
§ Miss Joan LestorMajor Andrews, who is at present on bail, was arrested for alleged offences against Sudanese law. That law must take its course, and the most that we can do is to press that he should be tried quickly. The Embassy in Khartoum has done this and will continue to do so.
