HC Deb 04 December 1974 vol 882 cc502-3W
Rev. Ian Paisley

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he is aware that children have to use the railway line at Dunloy, Co. Antrim, in order to get to school because of the flooding of the Sunk Road; and if he will take immediate steps to remedy this situation.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

I am aware that children have had to walk along the railway line to get to school when the sunk road has been flooded. The work to raise the level of the carriageway has now been completed. Because of the peat base of the road a temporary surface has been laid. It is hoped to lay the final surface next spring.
