HC Deb 04 December 1974 vol 882 c478W
Mrs. Winifred Ewing

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many fishery protection ships there are and how many are currently in operation.

Mr. Bishop

At present there are nine operational vessels in the fishery protection squadron of the Royal Navy, and other units of the fleet undertake fishery protection work as part of their wider duties. In addition, the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries for Scotland has five fishery protection vessels, of which three are currently in operation.
