§ Mr. Gouldasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will seek to amend the Accommodation Agency Act, in view of the House of Lords' decision that the Act permits fees to be charged in some circumstances to tenants.
§ Mr. FreesonAs I understand it, the courts have not in the past held that the Accommodation Agencies Act 1953 prohibits charging of tenants in all circumstances, and I do not think that the recent decision is a radical departure from this. I am however considering whether the Act needs revision.
