§ Miss Joan LestorThe principle of paying compensation has been accepted by the Government of Tanzania and valuations of a number of properties are proceeding. We shall continue our discussions on the remaining unresolved cases. As regards the second part of the Question, the sums paid to date represent the best settlements we have been able to obtain on the basis of local valuations and Tanzanian law.
