HC Deb 30 April 1974 vol 872 c455W
Mr. Bruce-Gardyne

asked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection what study she has given to the impact of the activities of the Price Commission on supplies of polystyrene for United Kingdom industry; and if she will make a statement.

Mr. Maclennan

My right hon. Friend has received representations that the Price Code, in restricting the price of home-produced plastics, may be having the effect of diverting supplies into export sales, to the detriment of home users. We shall be studying this matter, in consultation with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Industry, and will take it into account as necessary in our general review of the Price Code.
