asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will set up an Energy Commission as a matter of urgency to consider all aspects of policy planning.

Mr. Varley

I am not convinced that an Energy Commission of this kind is needed. I shall be ready, however, to strengthen the resources available for advising me on energy matters, if that becomes necessary. In this connection, the hon. Member will recall that I have just arranged for an Energy Technology Support Unit to be set up at Harwell.
