§ Mr. Tylerasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if, in his examination of the future of the 75 per cent. discretionary improvement grant scheme for development and intermediate areas, he will consider allowing for delays and shortages of building materials caused by the three-day week, by permitting the inclusion of all works approved by local authorities on or before 31st September 1974.
§ Mr. FreesonThe Government are urgently considering all problems associated with the existing termination provisions for 75 per cent. house improvement grants under the Housing Act 1971.
The proposal made by the hon. Member does, however, raise considerable difficulties in that his preferred terminal date will never arrive.
