HC Deb 05 April 1974 vol 871 c446W
Mr. Jopling

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will estimate the amount of cheese and butter likely to be manufactured in the United Kingdom during 1974; and what were the comparable figures for 1973.

Mr. Moyle

The utilisation of milk available for manufacture is a matter for the industry and trade to determine. Their current estimate of butter and cheese production in 1974 is 54,000 tons and 201,000 tons respectively. The comparable figures in 1973 were 95,000 tons and 178,000 tons.
