§ Mr. MoyleMy Department's wages and employment inquiry for England and Wales indicates that in 1973 the gross weekly earnings of hired whole-time male agricultural workers averaged £27–63 for a 47–9-hour week. This included payments in kind averaging 50p in value. No directly comparable figures are available for other industries, but the hon. Member may care to refer to the United Kingdom earnings data, under the various standard industrial classifications, as published in the Department of Employment'sGazette.
