asked the Attorney-General if he will initiate proposals designed to cut costs and expedite the procedures in the sale and purchase of residential properties.

An Order in Council made on 26th March will extend compulsory registration of title to areas comprising a population of about 4 million. The hon. Member will have noted the reduction in stamp duty on conveyances of lower-priced property announced in the Budget Statement. These are two substantial contributions to the aims which he mentions.
